Who we honor
Laura Madara was an SVFC fire police officer, our Ladies Auxiliary president, and one of Selbyville's most devoted neighbors. She spent her life looking out for this town's children, and she died in the line of duty on April 9, 2021.
The Back to School Fair began that same year and continues every summer in her name — because filling backpacks and sending kids off to a great school year is exactly the kind of thing Laura did best.
